The European Commission has recently published a proposed revision of the rules on the posting of workers which aims to revise Directive 96/71 (“Posting of Workers Directive”).It will include changes in three main areas:(a) remuneration of posted workers, including in situations of subcontracting,(b) rules on temporary agency workers, and(c) long-term posting.The proposals include addressing unfair practices and promoting the principle that the same work at the same place should be remunerated in the same manner.A copy of the full press release is available to view here.For those who are interested, a link to the legislation is available for download here.
