The European Commission has recently published a proposed revision of the rules on the posting of workers which aims to revise Directive 96/71 (“Posting of Workers Directive”).
It will include changes in three main areas:
(a) remuneration of posted workers, including in situations of subcontracting,
(b) rules on temporary agency workers, and
(c) long-term posting.
The proposals include addressing unfair practices and promoting the principle that the same work at the same place should be remunerated in the same manner.
