The Minister for Social Protection announced yesterday the approval by the Cabinet of a General Scheme of the Gender Recognition Bill 2013.Once the Bill is published, it will afford transgender people of 18 years and over recognition by the State which will include the right to marry, to have civil partnerships and the right to a new Birth Certificate.A full copy of the press release is available here.
