In the recently published Employment Permits (Amendment) Bill 2014 which was launched on April 23rd, a range of new employment permits for those looking to work in Ireland are to be created. These permits are designed to make the employment system more flexible and Ireland “the top global location” for information and communications technology. A key objective of the Bill is to ensure that workers come from within Ireland and the European Economic Area but permits can be issued to other workers if they have skills needed by employers.A full copy of the press release from Minister Hogan is available here together with a link to the Bill.We will explore the Bill in further detail in our next blog post.
