For those who missed it or may not be aware, the Injuries Board issued a new edition of the Book of Quantum in October 2016. The Book of Quantum sets out the general guidelines on how much or amounts which can be awarded for Personal Injury Claims.The Book has been updated to deal with a much broader range of injuries such as:
- Food poisoning
- Loss of an eye
- Clavicle Injuries
- Finger amputations (partial)
- Concussion
- Upper limb disorders
- Clavicle Injuries
- Achilles Tendon Injuries
The Injuries Board will consider the Book of Quantum when they are considering personal injury claims lodged. The Courts also have regard to this when assessing damages but can also consider other factors.A copy of the Book of Quantum can be downloaded here
