The Association are concerned that almost 14,000 people born between January and December in 1949 will lose out by about EUR12,000 before they are eligible for a State pension in 2014. The IAFP executive chairman Jerry Moriarty stated that the lost pension revenue will never be recovered by the people born on those dates and that better guidelines are needed for those that will find themselves in that situation in 2014.
